Black Mountain shines as a ski and recreation area the whole family can enjoy. First time skiers as well as the novice skier can enjoy easy-going skiing on our gentle learning slopes, while the more advanced skiers can navigate the traditional trails winding through scenic splendor. Experts head for the top where the Views of Mount Washington are as exciting as a schuss down Upper Maple Slalom. Intermediates relax with a top to bottom cruise down Black Beauty, or long looping Bob A Link. For first-timers there's plenty of wide open, gentle terrain where a little practice will send your skiing ability, along with your confidence, soaring.

What's NEW at Black Mountain

Friendly people are the heart of Black Mountain and we welcome skiers with over 60 years of rich skiing history. Everyone here is easy to get to know, and our focus is toward family - the terrain, mountain personnel and even the type of skiers Black attracts, which means that kids are naturally safe and well supervised. Parents at Black are assured of a relaxing and enjoyable day of their own.

When you come to Black make a point of meeting the ski school staff. There's no better place to learn, and improve skiing and snowboarding skills. Just as you tune-up your skis, you should tune-up your techniques, no matter how accomplished a skier or snowboarder you become. Since teaching adults and children is completely different, Black offers specialty programs designed just for the younger skier. The Black Mountain Rental Shop is a great one-stop way to conveniently rent excellent quality, well maintained equipment. For last minute needed or forgotten accessories, Black's Ski Shop is the place for affordable items with everything from goggles to lip balm.

Out on the slopes the fun never stops with special events and activities throughout the season. We invite all our skiers to take part in the lively antics of obstacle courses, family fun races, NASTAR competitions, telemark clinics, snowboard championships and much more. About The Jackson Area

Black Mountain and Jackson have a special magic that begins the moment you enter the old red covered bridge, beckoning welcome to this picture-perfect New England village. The snow-covered village green, etched by the runners of horse drawn sleighs and cross country skis, is surrounded by country inns whispering "Welcome" to those skiers lucky enough to have discovered them. Friendly smiles, as warm as the fires glowing in their hearths, are the charm of this tiny country village with rolling hillsides and spectacular views of the Presidential mountain range. This is New England winter at its best.

Black Mountain, in Jackson, is the heart of the Mt. Washington Valley, the most popular of New England's resort areas. Here the skiing is just the beginning of a great winter vacation or getaway. There's a wealth of activities, including shopping, dining, entertainment, and a myriad of recreation choices - all at your fingertips just minutes away.
