View the Beautiful Summer and Fall Landscape by Horseback and Experience an Adventure to Remember!!
Known for it's classic New England Skiing and Riding during the winter months, our slopes transform into gently winding paths and scenic pastures during the summer. Explore our ski area from the comfort of horseback and enjoy stunning mountain views, wildlife, and incredible foliage in the fall. After horseback riding, enjoy the valley’s miles of rivers, hiking trails and mountain roads, or take in the quaint Jackson Village and the legendary Jackson Falls; only a few minutes drive away. Come enjoy a real mountain adventure with us this summer!
This season we are keeping with a four (4) rider maximum per scheduled ride as we believe it's a more intimate riding experience for the group. Kids too young for mountain rides (9 and below) love our pony rides that meander near the beautiful base area. Please call ahead for pony rides as they are based on staff availability.
Typical horseback riding season runs mid-June through mid-October, weather permitting.
Reservations are required.
Payment due at time of scheduling. We accept all major credit cards.

Our trained guides and seasoned horses will show you the technique and help you along the way. Truly a beautiful New England Experience!
Weather Dependent
Weather dependent covers a lot of conditions that one may not typically consider and these are primarily due to one main factor: SAFETY! Safety is our utmost priority and because the trail ride is inclined for half the duration, heat and humidity are enormous factors. If the day is too hot or too humid, a ride may be cancelled for the safety and health of our horses. Rain and thunderstorms are another huge consideration. While light or intermittent rain will usually not prompt a cancellation, heavy and steady rain usually will and may also lead to ride cancellations the following day. The trail the horses transit can often get very muddy if it does not have an opportunity to dry out thoroughly. Muddy paths means the horses can slide, slip, or even lose a shoe in the mud, which will also make for an uncomfortable experience for the rider. Here at Black Mountain Stables we do our best to ensure you have the most incredible trail ride experience and in order to do so, safety must always come first! If you experience a ride cancellation, we will do our best to reschedule your party to best fit your schedule. Any cancellations due to weather will result in a full reimbursement if a reschedule date is not possible.
We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation!
